Life After Mochi

As you have probably heard by now, Mochi Media is shutting down. This is very sad news for the Flash community and particularly to myself. As with most things surrounding Flash in the last 10 years or so, this news has been blown well out of proportion by the anti-Flash crowd. As you'll see, there are plenty of other options available for Flash developers when it comes to monetizing and distributing games. (more…)

Android Impressions

I’ve been wanting to dive into Android development for some time now, and last week, I finally decided to pick an Android phone to play around with. I decided to go with the Nexus S 4G which runs on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. I bought this phone solely for development purposes; my "normal" phone is an iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.3.5, but I was definitely looking forward to checking out what Google’s Android OS could do. I’ve had the phone for a week now and figured I’d share my thoughts on it and how it compares to iOS. (more…)

Using Flash Debug Player with Google Chrome

This is something that's been bugging me for a while: Google Chrome won't use the debug versions of Flash Player because it uses its own, internal version. I've always just used a different browser for Flash testing, such as Firefox, but today I was determined to get to the bottom of this and I am pleased to report that I have succeeded! (more…)
